Dear Colleagues,

I am delighted to invite you to the NISDA Conference 2018 at The Perse Upper School in Cambridge during the Summer Half Term (Friday 1st – Sunday 3rd June 2018). This year marks the 25th Anniversary of NISDA, and we have secured a number of exciting leading theatre practitioners at the forefront of inclusive theatre-making, covering a breadth of styles that celebrate the very best in British theatre practice. These include Kneehigh, Milk Presents, Alia Bano, Graeae, Vikki Stone, Sarah Redmond & Nikki McGowan. Together we will explore the theme of this year’s conference, “Celebration of Diversity”.

To book your place, please visit www.nisda.co.uk/p/2018-conference.html and submit payment to our NISDA Treasurer Jo Brayton. Workshop option forms will be available online in the Spring. Please remember that this is a very popular conference and places are limited, so book early. Please also pass this information on to anyone in your department/organisation who might be interested in attending.

NISDA is organised by a committee of teachers, technicians and theatre managers, and we run our annual conference for all those who teach, direct or support classroom drama or co-curricular theatre. Although we are obviously made up predominantly of independent schools it is important to us that we also welcome our state sector colleagues and our wider theatre community friends.

We do hope you will be able to join us for a “Celebration of Diversity” as we explore and learn more about the role, importance and power of diversity within the arts community.

Best wishes,

Matt Hawksworth
NISDA Committee & Teacher of Drama & Theatre Director in Residence
